SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER #995018

NVIDIA is looking for a software engineer to maintain, extend and operate a world-class, large-scale, multi-tier distributed computing system for running builds, tests, and chip simulations on farms of machines all around the world. The system runs tens of thousands of jobs per day and serves thousands of software and hardware engineers worldwide.

In this position, you will be the liaison between the Architecture engineering team and our system. This will entail working with the Architecture engineers to understand their build and test needs, owning the build/test regressions that run in our system, helping define the process flow that couples our two environments. As a secondary role in this position, you will be responsible for ensuring peak performance of our system by analyzing bottlenecks, deploying system improvements, reducing machine downtime, reducing test failure rates due to false positives, automating maintenance and test and build deployment processes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Object-oriented programming background; C++/Java preferred
  • MS (preferred) or BS in Computer Science
  • Industry experience preferred but not required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PHP, HTML web page generation
  • Scripting languages (Perl and TCL a plus)
  • SQL database administration and data mining
  • Networking
  • Linux / Windows development
