RIA UI Engineer
The UI/RIA Engineer is responsible for implementing key components of our customer applications. The engineer will work with Project Managers, Technical Lead, UI and other engineers, Business Analysts and QA Engineers on projects. The UI/RIA engineer is responsible for interfacing effectively with the rest of the project team as well as the customer to intimately understanding customer requirements and how they can be met with Dorado software, and implements these requirements with high quality.
The successful candidate must be able to work independently with little or no supervision, and is committed to the highest standards of quality for the entire development effort. The candidate should have experience in the full lifecycle of large (preferably enterprise) application development, from requirements analysis and design through QA and post-production support. Strong experience developing web-based user interfaces with application server development technologies (JSP, servlets, Cold Fusion, etc) is essential. The ideal engineer has experience in rich/thick/heavy Web client application development, using platforms such as Flex, Laszlo, Swing/AWT, etc.
Skills Required:
- Minimum of four years of experience in web design and production
- Minimum 2 years experience with enterprise level application development
- Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of FLEX or Lazlo
- Flash experience is a plus
- Java or C++ experience a plus
- Demonstrated expertise of Swing or DHTML with JSP, Struts, Tapestry, or some other generated webpage programming with AJAX a plus
- Demonstrated expertise of Javascript or ActionScript
- Demonstrated expertise of XHTML and CSS
- Demonstrated expertise of OOP principals
- Experience with relational database management systems, operations, and applications (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, etc)
- Experience with Bugzilla or other bug tracking software a plus
- Knowledge of XML and related implementations including XML Schema/XSLT a plus
- Demonstrated expertise using graphics applications such as Adobe and Macromedia design suites
- Demonstrated understanding of W3C and Section 508 web standards a plus
- Excellent understanding of user-centered design methodology and usability testing
- Demonstrated expertise in graphic and typography design and layout
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
- Ability to communicate abstract design ideas clearly using storyboards, wire frames, and flowcharts
